CO2 Avoidance Costs
CO2 avoidance costs describe the costs of reducing a given amount of CO2 compared to a reference technology (or a reference time). The investment and operating costs as well as the consumption-related costs are stated here. Proceeds from electricity and heat sales are not included in the calculation. Avoidance costs are usually stated specifically in € per kg CO2.
