Complexity Reduction at the Open Day of the Forschungszentrum Jülich
On 07.07.2019 the Forschungszentrum Jülich has invited to the Open Day.
During the open day at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, researchers of the IEK-3 presented issues of the energy systems analysis in a way, that made the complexity of the energy system more understandable for visitors with no background in the field. For example, the potential of wind power as a function of political boundary conditions was discussed based on regulations for the minimum distance to settlements, natural habitats and more. Many a visitor – from children to grandparent – were equally fascinated and surprised by counter-intuitive effects which result from the complexity of the energy system.
